WHAT IS WATER STOP LIQIUID MEMBRANE?

Selsil Water Stop Liquid Membrane, a one-component, hybrid polymer-based, low-viscosity waterproofing product. Free from solvents, isocyanates, and bitumen. Upon contact with air, it cures to form an elastic and waterproof layer.

Liquid Membrane can be applied using either a brush roller or airless spray, it’s recommended that you apply a double coating in order to get the full longevity out of the product and top up any low, hard to fill or weak areas. You should wait for the first coat to be completely dry before applying a second.

Similar to GRP, it offers a seamless protection and can be used for complex detailing such as going around pipes, whilst also offering more DIY friendly alternative than GRP. The application process involves:

1. Ensure that surface area is clean of all dust, dirt, grease and loose debris.

2. Apply the first coat using either a roller or airless spray, same as you would if painting.

3. After waiting for the 1st layer to completely dry, apply an additional layer, during this process, check for any air bubbles & places with poor adhesion.

4. Once the 2nd coat is completed, leave the product to fully cure for 24 hours, protecting it from any rain.

Caution: Ensure the following 24 hours after application will not drop to freezing temperatures before applying the product.

What are the benefits of Waterstop Liquid Membrane?

Seamless

Due to it being a liquid, it can be molded around more intricate details of a roof easier such as pipes and more intricate detailngs, where a sheet membrane can be more complex.
